The popularity of this internationally renowned competition announced by the North-Rhine Westphalia Design Zentrum is made evident by the increasing number of participants: whereas in 2006 – when MINOX won with its Porro Binoculars BD 8×44 BP and 10×44 BP – there were just over 2000 products from 41 countries, this year the jury faced a flood of 3203 entries from 51 countries…
Red dot design award for HG 8×33 BR binoculars
MINOX expands its red-dot collection: the optic specialists from Wetzlar have been distinguished again for their creative design, innovative work and top product quality. In this year’s “red dot design award“ competition the binoculars HG 8×33 BR asph. have been awarded the quality mark and prestigious seal of approval. The official presentation of the prize will take place on June 23rd at a gala event in Essen’s Opera House – this marks the fifth red dot award for MINOX.

The evaluation criteria are among others, functionality and ergonomics, level of innovation, product longevity or ecological sustainability in terms of material, amount of material used, manufacturing technology and energy consumption. Each year the jury of international experts judges three different categories: product design, communication design und design concept. The company that acquires the red dot distinction for its product can consider itself as one of the best in the world.
