Sharp has launched a new range of humidifying air purifiers to help allergy and asthma sufferers this summer. With three different models in the range to suit a variety of needs – the KCC70E, KCC100E and KCC150E air purifiers are designed to work efficiently in any area of the home, in room sizes up to an impressive 48m2 (KCC150E).

It’s currently estimated that 1 in 4 people in the UK will suffer from allergies at some point in their lives. Unique Plasmacluster technology – the science bit

Sharp’s air purifiers utilise unique Plasmacluster technology that actually attacks contaminants in the home’s atmosphere, reducing odours and ensuring that you can breathe easy.

An integral ion generator separates water molecules drawn in from the surrounding air to create both positive hydrogen and negative oxygen ions. These colliding ions are released into the atmosphere and become stable by clinging onto the micro particles of dust, pollen, or odour-causing molecules in the air, forming clusters. The positive and negative ion clusters are transformed into Hydroxyl (OH) groups, which deactivate and deodorise airborne particles – a revolutionary way of air purification.

This patented air purification technology replicates the fresh air of the great outdoors, indoors – but without the nasty pollen, spores or pollutants – creating a natural balance of negative and positive ions which work together to decontaminate the air and destroy allergy and asthma causing air borne particles.

In-built humidifier

Going beyond traditional air purification, the new air purifier range also has an in-built humidifier to help clean the air and prevent dust and pollen becoming air-borne.
